Like most women I underarms and bikini wax every week, and on it I have to shave your legs to prevent ingrown hair bumps, I get from waxing. Every time that day I sigh and wish you had some other way to do this.
Two months ago I found the house Tria Laser Hair Removal System. The company undertakes to give the same results as a professional at the same time, it is much cheaper.
I am very skeptical at first I started extensive research on laser hair removal at home. I went to many laser hair removal forum to read reviews of different products, and read many articles on the subject. When I spent a month to find out facts about laser hair removal at home I was finally ready. And this is what I found.
Who can use a laser hair removal at home?
The only people who are qualified to use laser hair removal in hair are those who have light skin and dark hairs. It does not work on white, red, light brown or blond. It is important to know that people with a tan can not be used and the laser will have a problem picking up the dark hairs.
People with dark skin and light hair may also laser treatments, but must go to a professional.
Is there any risk involved?
After hours of research I found that if used correctly are very few side may occur, if they are very rare. However, it is advisable to test a small portion of the skin and watch for a few days to make sure that nothing happens because some side effects, although rare, can be permanent.
Some side effects are:
- Hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin) - very rare, but can be long lasting or permanent.
Hypopigmentation (lightening of the skin) - - still very rare, but may be permanent.
- Blistering, scarring - very rare.
- Change is the skin texture - very rare.
- Crust scabbing, or - if it happens, is only temporary.
Is it expensive?
Home laser hair treatments do not cost much, in my opinion, are all different. It is still a much cheaper alternative of having a professional treatment.
Prices vary on the systems in laser hair removal. Tria and Silk'n already dropped from $ 800.00 to $ 600.00. But prices are not guaranteed, as there are always ups and downs of the retail industry. You will find that some companies offer payment plans. One thing to remember when thinking about buying the unit is that after a while you'll have to get replacement bulbs, which are quite expensive, some are as high as $ 75 each!
In general, laser hair removal system at home is still a much cheaper alternative. It is estimated that the average consumer will spend about $ 10,000 for professional hair removed after all treatment follow-up!
Is it easy to use?
Again, that depends on what the laser hair removal that you use at home. Judging by the reviews and all claims, Tria and Silk'n units are the easiest to use, and Epila from last year.
The results are as great as promised?
Sorry guys, the jury is still out on that.
Silk'n gives a lot of immediate results, but are not permanent or long-term. Yet, many people love how quickly it works, and prefer to use instead of wax. It 'a lot less painful than waxing.
Tria company says their device offers extremely long lasting results, even permanent for some. The problem is that Tria has just been released, and it was not long enough for consumers to see the long-term results. There are people who have bought and loved it, and swears it works fine. But they have used it for a few months. However, it is the only FDA-approved device that promises lasting results. And they have a 90 day warranty.
Other units are not even worth mentioning here. I have not found a positive response, and none of them have been approved by the FDA.
The question remains. Will I buy a home hair laser hair removal system? Probably. While there was not enough time to see if it works long term, I'm willing to try it on my underarms, bikini line and legs. The company says the results are long term, is approved by the FDA and has a warranty. This time I chose to believe it!
